A Caste Certificate is an official document issued by the government in India that certifies a person belongs to a particular caste, especially if the caste is recognized as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), or Other Backward Class (OBC).
“To get a caste certificate, you need an application form, proof of identity (like an Aadhaar card, Voter ID, or passport), proof of address (like a ration card or electricity bill), a birth certificate, and crucially, proof of your caste from a blood relative, such as a family member’s caste certificate or a record from the primary school register. A recent photograph of the applicant is also required.”

- A certificate issued by a Gram Sansad Member (for West Bengal residents).

- A few copies of the applicant’s recent passport-sized photograph.
